Meet Rabbi Avigdor Goldberger

Kollel is my life. I joined the Minneapolis Community Kollel as a yungerman in 2011 and became its CEO and Menahel in 2015. I care deeply about yungeleit and their families—their commitment to Torah, their sacrifices, and their future. Before joining the Minneapolis Community Kollel, I learned in the Mechina in Ner Yisroel- Baltimore, Talmudical Yeshiva of Philadelphia, Yeshivas Ner Moshe under Rav Sholom Shechter, and Beis Medrash Govoha.

Some of the most talented and capable people I know are bnei Torah. I see their intelligence, dedication, discipline, and depth every day.

That is why it pains me to see a capable yungerman struggle in a position that doesn’t suit him. Someone who was respected and accomplished in the beis medrash begins questioning what he has to offer.

Sometimes he needs training or experience. Sometimes the problem is the fit. He has real strengths; the job simply isn’t making use of them.

I want to help yungeleit recognize those strengths and find a place where they can put them to good use.

What Brought Me Here

Running a Kollel has kept me close to the lives and concerns of yungeleit while giving me practical experience managing people, finances, fundraising, and an organization.

My work with Ichud HaKollelim and as a CauseMatch partner coach has broadened that experience beyond Minneapolis. I also run a business and coordinate the Minneapolis Parnassah Network, connecting people with employers and opportunities.

Through this work, I’ve seen that knowing who is hiring is only part of the answer. Before pursuing a position or investing in training, a person needs to understand what kind of work suits him.

That concern led me to train and become certified as a career coach through the Rockport Institute. Torah Career Consulting brings together that training, my practical experience, and my commitment to helping yungeleit succeed.

Our Work Together

Through assessments and personal conversation, we explore your abilities, personality, interests, and values. We look beyond job titles to the actual work: what you would do each day, what would be expected of you, and which strengths you would use.

The goal is to identify fitting possibilities and practical next steps—whether in chinuch, rabbanus, communal service, business, or the professions.

Your Rebbe or Rosh Yeshiva remains your guide in deciding whether and when to leave Kollel and which paths to consider. My role is to help you understand how you are built and explore fitting opportunities within those paths.

You have much to offer. Let’s understand what that is and where you can use it well.
